The most requested return is our Limited Edition Chocolate Mead and has been the best kept secret for the last THREE YEARS!!! Mrs Mead’s first recipe has been brought back in the hopes we actually get some this time. This Chocolate Mead should have been ready for our 10th birthday in 2023. But, it took EVEN LONGER than the first batch and is only (nearly) 2 years later than planned! Bringing together the best of both worlds – chocolate and mead – it’s everything you asked for.
This time we used 100% pure cacao nibs (50% roasted and 50% raw) rather than cacao powder. It has an initially bitter (in that dark chocolate sense), subtle chocolate flavour, which builds with every sip. A slightly larger Limited Edition batch but definitely not a permanent addition just yet……. This flavour does not like to be kept or served cold – the cocoa butter will separate and it will become cloudy until it reaches room temperature again – room temperature or above is perfect.
FREE FROM: Gluten, Wheat, Fish, Dairy, Sulphites, Eggs, Gelatin – suitable for vegetarians
As this is a natural product, some hazing and sedimentation is likely to occur. Leave to settle in a cool, dark place and pour carefully. This a natural part of the maturation process and is not harmful to consumer or product. In fact, it will taste even better for it and it is why we use a decanter style bottle!
